About the IREN East Africa Thought Leaders Forum

Initiated in August 2011, the Annual Eastern Africa Thought Leaders Forum seeks to identify strategies to enable East Africans organically evolve their own socio-economic and political systems and to nurture futuristic thinkers.

Previous forums focused on how East Africans can position themselves to benefit from the Cape to Cairo Free Trade Zone; Essential elements for African leadership in the Global Jungle; African Indigenous Games of Strategy and Africa’s Core Interests: How to make Africans’ Dreams Valid

The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented disruption in the political, economic, social, technological, environmental, security and legal environment. Nations are rethinking their crisis-management models. International relations are being strained. Leaders are backing out of their political commitments. Conspiracy theories are rife. There is a call for a new world order. What do these developments portend for Africa? Is Africa preparing for the aftermath?

IREN is pleased to host its 10th East Africa Thought Leaders Forum virtually on The Future of Africa in the Post COVID-19 World.

Think Tanks, scholars, opinion leaders, multidisciplinary professionals, policy makers, futures experts,  experts on USA, Asia, China, Europe, Latin America and the African Union, etc are invited to submit well researched and original papers that will form the discussion, be published in book format, discussed and disseminated to strategic audiences.
