Unlock your Business Potential using the 2010 FIFA World Cup

Charges:  Kshs 500

Venue: Panafric Hotel

Time: 6.00pm-8.30 pm

For the first time in history the FIFA World Cup 2010 is being held in Africa. Over 300,000 people from all over the world will gather in South Africa to watch the game while millions will watch it from their television sets across the world. Over 130 000 jobs have been created in building stadiums alone while SA Breweries (SAB) estimates that the demand for beer will rise by 4 to 6 percent during the five-week World Cup period.

With all eyes focusing on Africa, the impact of the FIFA World Cup in Africa will be felt for over five years after the game is over.  This is due to among other developments building and refurbishing of hotels, stadiums, airports and railway systems. The impact is expected to spread to other African countries through business relations with South Africa.

How can individual Kenyan and other African businessmen leverage on this golden opportunity?

The Inter Region Economic Network (IREN) a leading African think tank that promotes ideas and strategies geared towards improving the living standards in Africa, will host a 2 hour debate on ‘What opportunities does the 2010 FIFA World Cup offer to African and Kenyan business community?’ on 25th May 2010 in commemoration of the Africa Unity Day.

I wish to invite you to join us on 25th May 2010 6.00pm-8.30pm in marking this important day as we  explore how you can unlock your business potential using the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South.

Session Chair: James Shikwati, Director IREN Kenya, CEO The African Executive.

Mr. Shikwati is a writer and a commentator on public policy with a special interest in development, environment, trade and agriculture. He was named among the top 100 influential Kenyans in a study conducted by the Standard Group in 2007.  The World Economic Forum named Mr. Shikwati among the 250 Young Global Leaders of 2008.
